I am now an Associate Teaching Professor in Digital Electronics and VLSI Design in the Department of Engineering in the University of Cambridge.
I have over 15 years of teaching experiences in the areas of digital electronics, microprocessor systems and integrated circuit (VLSI) design and taught in Hong Kong, Beijing and London. I have extensive management experience as Undergraduate Programme Director and Director of Student Innovation Centre.
I am interested in active learning pedagogies like blended learning and co-creation (students as partners). I am also passionate about outreach activities and have been promoting electrical and electronic engineering to youngsters around UK.
Engineering is ever-changing - our future engineers have to be knowledgeable, skillful and innovative, and it begins with outstanding engineering education.
LinkedinI finished my B.Eng in Computer Engineering, MPhil and PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2003, 2005 and 2008 respectively.
I am now teaching at the Department of Engineering in the University of Cambridge.
Previously, I worked as a Senior Lecturer in Computer Engineering at the School of Electric Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). I taught regularly in the QMUL-BUPT Joint Programme (JP) and was the Director of the Joint Student Innovation Centre and the Programme Director of the Internet of Things Engineering Programme. I received the Teaching Excellence Award from BUPT-QMUL Joint Programme in 2017/18.
Before joining QMUL, I was a Lecturer of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of CUHK. There I received the Dean's Exemplary Teaching awards three times in 2010, 2011 & 2013.
I am a Chartered Engineer (CEng), a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and a member of IET and IEEE.
